Observe Ham Radio in the Field This Weekend

Chances are you’ve heard about amateur radio operators providing help in the aftermath of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires or other natural disasters. But have you considered incorporating ham radio into your prepping strategy?

If so, you can observe ham radio in the field this weekend. It’s time for ham radio to put itself on display for the public in an annual event called Field Day. Every fourth weekend in June hams all across the country participate in Field Day. This year’s event is this weekend, June 22nd and 23rd.

Find out more in a previous post I’ve written here Or you can go directly to Field Day information from ARRL. Find a ham radio club who’s participating near you by going to ARRL’s Field Day Locator.

There’s no better time than today to find out for yourself whether ham radio should be part of your family’s survival communications plan. Getting a ham radio license is easier than ever. Besides, amateur radio is fun.
