Survival Gardening in Cuba – Is it the Example We’ll be Forced to Follow?

Even though our economy is in bad shape, we still wallow in abundance here in the U.S. It’s not that way in Cuba. But over the years they’ve made incredible strides with organic gardening. They’ve done so out of necessity.

Are the Cubans paving the way with an example we’ll be forced to follow? Will we be as resourceful?

Take roughly a half hour to watch the two videos below. The first is from a BBC series, and the second is a documentary from Canada. They’ve been available on YouTube for some time now, and their message is still poignant.

  1. I loved your video’s on Cuba’s gardening! I down loaded the first to show at our next barter groups meeting. Our community has gardens all over the place and we do grow most of our own food already but I loved the concept of having fast growing produce for most of the gardens to help feed more people.
