Get Deep Discounts on an Excellent Preparedness Resource During National Preparedness Month

Before I tell you about the discounts on an excellent preparedness resource, let’s step back a minute and examine why we need such a thing. And I’ll say a few words about the preparedness awareness campaign going on this month.

The Need

It always amazes me to see how little people are prepared for disasters and emergencies. You’d think that the events of recent years, such as tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and even the current drought would jar people into awareness and action.

According to an article in Philly.com, the Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation poll has revealed that 44 percent of U.S. adults don’t have first-aid kits. And 48 percent lack emergency supplies for use in the event of catastrophes.

What’s more, the poll’s findings suggested that Americans have a false sense of security. Although the researchers found that more than 53 percent of Americans don’t have a three-day supply of nonperishable food and water in their home, those surveyed believe they can survive in their homes for an average of 16 days in the event of a disaster. It’s that old normalcy bias, and it gets people in trouble.

Believe it or not, 55 percent of Americans still think they can rely on local authorities to come to their rescue when disaster strikes.

Parents in particular aren’t ready for a disaster. Although 80 percent of the parents polled said they were well prepared for such an event, 52 percent haven’t designated a family meeting place where they can find each other if they get separated during an emergency.

The Campaign

Once again this year, September is National Preparedness Month (NPM). It’s the ninth annual observance. And “Pledge to Prepare” is the theme.

The NPM campaign is sponsored by FEMA, Ready and Citizen Corps. It seeks to transform awareness into action by encouraging American families and businesses to take the necessary steps to ensure that their homes, workplaces and communities are prepared for disasters and emergencies of all kinds.

The Resource

One of the best preparedness resources you can get for yourself is the book called It’s A Disaster! It’s a quick reference book on a number of topics relevant to emergencies and disaster preparedness. Much of its contents comes from a number of government agencies throughout the U.S. as well as Canada.

Since it’s compiled into a handy book, you don’t have
to go searching online or through brochures and things you’ve printed out to find the information you need.

It’s also easy to understand because it covers basics for so many who aren’t familiar with preparedness in short term disaster situations. But even those of us who’ve been prepping a while need to be reminded of simple things when we’re under stress. With this valuable resource at your disposal, you’ll know what to do ahead of time so you’ll be less dependent on first responders and other government help.

Not only does It’s A Disaster! deal with disaster prevention, but it gives tips on what to do in the aftermath of a disaster. If you look through the book yourself or with your family ahead of emergencies, you’ll know what’s relevant for your situation.

Because it’s the size of a normal paperback, it’s small enough to take backpacking, put in a desk drawer at work, or put in your bug out bag at home. It’s A Disaster! is complementary to other books you may have on preparedness in your survival library.

The Discount

Here’s an added advantage.

Now through September 30th, get special discounts on It’s A Disaster! The publishers are giving deep discounts on their business and consumer prices. Save over 50% off list price (or only $7.00 each U.S.) on any quantity purchase.

Plus, the publishers will donate up to 30% of orders back to their partners, affiliates and others helping spread the word about emergency preparedness and It’s A Disaster!.

Better still, the price drops even further when you buy this book in bulk. And your books can be customized at no extra charge to include your logos and special messages.

That’s a great way to promote your civic organization, business or school. You can also use copies of It’s A Disaster! in a fundraising effort for volunteer groups, nonprofits, schools
and others.

Find out more and place your order now by clicking on the image of the book cover below. Get a free sample e-book to start with so you can see what the book is like.

Tell others about It’s A Disaster because it’s a great way to ramp up preparedness awareness during National Preparedness Month. Let’s see if the numbers in the statistics quoted above can shrink for the better.
