A Few Thoughts on Hurricane Preparedness and Prepping in General
August 27th, 2012 by John Wesley Smith
Saturday evening I was honored to be the featured guest on
the Doom and Bloom Hour for August 25th with Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy of
DoomAndBloom.net. They spent the first half of the show talking about hurricane preparedness tips, a timely and relevant subject for Floridians this week. I encourage you to listen to what they had to say. At the very end of the show we mentioned hurricane kits. It may be too late to order online to be ready for the current storm, but there’s plenty of hurricane season left this year. You can find a hurricane kit at
QuakeKare when you click on
Hurricane Kit on their sidebar. Find kits and supplies at
Nitro-Pak and
SafeCastle by doing a search for
hurricane kit on their respective sites. Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy asked me several good questions. Our discussion covered a little about my background and how DestinySurvival and DestinySurvival Radio got started. We touched a little on home schooling and my religious faith. We also got into what some might consider politics because we took into consideration the general direction of things. It doesn’t matter who’s in office. I believe we’re in decline, and society as we know it is dying the death of a thousand cuts. That may sound pessimistic, but in order to start preparing, we have to see the reality of things as they are, not as we might like them to be. We must be generalists, considering a wide range of threats and scenarios. Nonetheless, there’s much we can’t do anything about. So we have to prepare for what we can do something about as best as we can right where we are in our own particular situation. Remember, anything you and I do is better than nothing. Think survival. Think the unthinkable. And keep prepping.
