I’m fortunate enough not to have lived through a hurricane. My closest encounter was back in the mid ’80’s when we lived in southeastern Pennsylvania. What we got from a weakening hurricane was no worse than storms I’ve experienced here in the middle of the country.
I have friends who have been through hurricanes though, and they’ll tell you to take hurricanes seriously. Of course, if you currently live in a hurricane prone area, you already know that.
