Put MRE’s in Your Survival Supplies

When you’re in an emergency situation, such as the aftermath of a major storm or hurricane, you don’t want to feel stressed about food. MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat) can keep you fed and put your mind at ease.

The Food Storage & Preserving page in the Prep Mart includes companies who offer MRE entrees, crackers, drinks and desserts. MRE’s are foil packed to last for years.

And they’ve improved over the years and taste better than you might think. My experience is that MRE’s taste similar to food you’d buy in cans at the grocery store.

MRE’s do contain preservatives, so you wouldn’t want a steady diet of them. But for short term survival situations, they’re a good addition to your survival supplies.

Why not take them with you on your next camping or hunting trip? You could supplement or combine them with your other favorite foods. Or take MRE’s when you travel. It’s cheaper than eating restaurant food.

Why not get several items to put in your survival pantry? Make emergency food easy when you have to get by during winter storms or summer hurricanes.
