A Pedal Boat as Survival Transportation?

When things start popping, you may want to find a way to escape the madness. Have you considered getting away on our amazing waterways?

Have you considered a pedal boat as survival transportation? Anyone can use one without any training. You just need two working legs. No need for oars and hard paddling.

Some think these are summer fun boats only, but they don’t have to be limited to that. We’re not talking about a high horsepower boat, but it won’t run out of fuel either. There’s also no motor that could break down.

Pedal boats have great stability and load handling ability. That’s good for bringing along the members of your family or for transporting survival gear.

The old and young can sit side by side and ride together and could even take turns pedaling. Think of the fun your children would have. These boats are steered with a simple rudder lever from the front seat.

Here’s another advantage. All the moving parts are replaceable and available online. You could buy spares to take with you in the wild and have them for any need, just in case.

You can get a pedal boat with a canopy top to shelter yourself from the sun. What if you added a plastic cover for protection from rain? Or what about covering with a mosquito net?

No part of your body has to stick outside the boat for pedaling or steering. You stay protected under the canopy. The only time you’d need to reach out would be to tie up your boat.

Use your imagination and give yourself water and land transportation capability. For example, you could haul a bike or trike on your pedal boat.

Or think of this. Some pedal boats will take an outboard and are big enough to mount solar panels to so you can recharge the motor battery.

Think of what it would be like to have a pedal boat near where you live now. Or what about having one close by to where you relocate in time of trouble.

That brings me around to this week’s DestinySurvival Pick. It’s the Sun Dolphin Sun Slider Adjustable Seat Lounger Pedal Boat with Canopy.
