I’m a firm believer in home schooling. We taught our children at home from K-12, and I encourage you to do it, too. There’s much to be said for home schooling as part of your prepping lifestyle.
But what if you’re reluctant? You know you want to become more involved in your children’s education, but you don’t think you’re ready to take the plunge.
Or maybe you’re teaching your kids at home already, but it’s a struggle for you. You feel inadequate to the task.
There’s help for you and your family in an online resource called Help Teach Your Children.
My guest on DestinySurvival Radio this week was Rebecca Ensign, the director of Help Teach Your Children. She’s a veteren in the publishing industry with a focus on educational materials and founded Gold Leaf Press in 1994.
Help Teach Your Children is all online. It’s a K-12 program featuring math and language arts. Material for science and social studies is being developed on an ongoing basis.
In a nutshell, the program’s mission is to empower you as the parent to help develop your children’s learning skills. It means cultivating your role as a teacher at home. That includes spending time in conversation with your children.
If your kids are in public school and you want to do more to help them along, Help Teach Your Children is for you. Let’s assume you don’t know how to help your kids withtheir homework. This program can help because what you need to know is conveniently online.
Or let’s suppose you want to ease into the role as home school teacher this year before pulling your kids out of school. This is the resource to help you do that.
If you’re home schooling, Help Teach Your Children can supplement your cuyrriculum or be the stand-alone material you use.
When your children struggle with a concept, it’s time to present it in a different way. Help Teach Your Children can give you the boost you need.
Parents, children and school teachers have responded favorably to this subscription-based resource. I encourage you to check it out for yourself and see if it’s right for your family. Become the empowered parent, grandparent or guardian who can help teach your children.
