Has Monsanto Turned Our Food Supply Into a Potential Survival Threat?

You may already be aware of the potential dangers of GMO’s–genetically modified organisms. Seeds for food crops are genetically modified to make them resistant to pesticides. Or other characteristics are genetically inserted.

This is not the same as hybridization, which is a natural process of cross breeding plants for the purpose of developing desired characteristics.

Proponents of GMO’s tell us this is progress. It supposedly helps the environment. Claims are made about feeding the world with more nutritious and efficiently grown crops.

A number of countries object to the sale and use of GMO’s. But our government doesn’t believe it’s necessary to label foods that contain genetically modified ingredients. But you can be sure they’re out there.

Genetic modification affects soy beans and corn, which are widely used in food production. I don’t know if anyone knows how pervasive the use of GMO ingredients has become in what we eat and drink every day.

We don’t know for certain what GMO food is doing to us. How many illnesses can be blamed on eating foods with GMO ingredients? Your doctor most likely has no idea or doesn’t believe GMO’s are a problem.

If your doctor practices conventional medicine, he’s likely to prescribe the latest and greatest products from the big pharmaceutical companies. But that’s another story.

As if all this weren’t enough, now there’s a new twist.

Monsanto is probably the biggest named company promoting genetically modified seeds. They make farmers sign the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement. It places all liability on farmers for any problems with GMO seeds.

As the video below points out, livestock may get sick and die when the eat stalks left over in fields where GMO crops have been grown.

Farmers may not be able to sell their own property once GMO crops have been grown on the land. And what happens if a neighbor complains pollen from GMO crops has contaminated his crops?

How many farmers will be driven out of business from all of this? What impact will that have on our food supply?

It looks to me like multinational corporations are the only ones who come out the winners.

When it comes right down to it, our food supply has become a potential threat to our survival.

That’s why it’s so important to grow as much of your own food as you can. And when you do, use heirloom seeds or hybrid seeds whose source you can trust. The Survival Gardening page in the DestinySurvival Prep Mart features companies offering seeds which contain heirloom, nonhybrid seeds.

Likewise, when you’re purchasing food for long term food storage, ask whether it’s been made with GMO ingredients.

For more on the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement, take 10 minutes to watch the video below. Tell farmers you know about this as well, in case they’re not already aware. And if you’re homesteading and starting a farm produce business, be informed.

But there’s more. Scientists who oppose GMO’s aren’t faring well either. Take about three minutes to see what they’re saying. Consider what’s being done to them. Then ask yourself if our food supply threatens our health and survival.
