While you’re stocking up on storage food and various survival supplies, are you stocking up on basics like soap? You could go to someplace like Sam’s Club and buy it in large quantities, but if you’re concerned about avoiding certain chemicals, how about making your own?
And what do you do when there’s nowhere to buy soap?
Below is a well done instructional video about soap making that only takes a few minutes to watch. If you’ve got an old crockpot, or one you can dedicate to the task, you’ve already got a start on the necessary soap making supplies.
You don’t have to give your soap away as the video suggests—unless you really want to. It’s always a good idea to have several bars on hand for your own family’s use. Or use it as a barter item when the need arises. There will be plenty who won’t take the initiative like you to have soap on hand.
