You may have pondered such questions.
Though the militia movement received more scrutiny and press in the 1990’s, now and then we hear about militias in the U.S.
As for me, I get uneasy when I hear the term “Christian” used in conjunction with such groups because the media has no discernment about matters of faith. As a born again Christian, I don’t like being lumped in with those the media blackballs, regardless of whether the people in question deserve it or not.
Let me say up front that I don’t advocate going up against or overthrowing the government. My purpose today is to warn you about involvement in organizations like militias, or even the Tea Party for that matter, because they’re riddled with provocateurs.
In other words, there are those who want you and me to make trouble, then they’ll label us as domestic terrorists.
I’m suspicious of a certain “Project” that teaches both American Revolutionary War history and how to be a rifleman. Could they be a tool for those trolling for wannabe subversives who get arrested later?
I don’t know the answer to those questions. But not to ask them is unwise in my opinion. Considering these issues is important as a part of the survival and preparedness mindset for each of us.
Do you or I try to turn the country back around, or do we accept what’s happened and make our preparations accordingly?
I opt for the latter. But in doing so, there are hard choices, too. With the rapid loss of freedoms, or in the event of martial law, do you or I stand and fight to the death? Do we “get out of Dodge?” Or do we allow ourselves to be taken to an “emergency center” or FEMA camp?
Again, I don’t have a blanket answer for you.
If you’re not a pragmatist, now’s the time to start being one. Consider all options. Think the unthinkable, and be ready to do whatever you believe the situation calls for at the time.
But remember to think survival. Don’t put yourself in harm’s way or get yourself and your loved ones killed. After all, that’s what survival is about.
Human beings have a tremendous capacity to live through astounding adversities. We can take more than we realize. Are you prepared to live under martial law? How would you make it in a FEMA camp? How would you make it living on the run as a refugee?
One of the best means of self defense and survival is to avoid a fight. Above all, don’t go looking for one. That means not letting anyone deceive or entrap you into some “righteous” cause that will get you on more government lists than you and I are probably on already. To use an old expression, “Keep your nose clean.”
On a related note, How worried should we be about government?
