Survival Supplies from a Science Place?

Sure, why not?  Ever heard of American Science and Surplus?  They’re based in the Chicago area and have a truly incredible selection of—I don’t even know how to define it.  They’ve got science equipment, of course, but they’ve got everything else from practical stuff you didn’t know existed as well as toys, gag items and more at dirt cheap prices.

Categories on their site include:  Arts & Crafts, Batteries & Power, Communications & Electronics, Electrical Parts, Hardware, House & Garden, Kits & Models, Lab Supplies & Equipment, Lamps, Sockets & Wiring, Materials, Magnets, Motors, Blowers & Pumps, Office Supplies, Optics, School Items, Tools, Robot Partz, and even more.

You’ll have fun looking at their site, and time will slide by before you know it.  Product illustrations are black and white drawings, and the descriptions are often hilarious.  If you never buy a thing from them, you’re sure to get a good laugh.  For example, did you know Dominettes aren’t bossy women?  That’s not the name of an early sixties girl pop singing group either.  (That last one’s my thought, not that of American Science and Surplus.)

I should mention DestinySurvival isn’t affiliated with American Science and Surplus, so I get nothing from them by mentioning them.  They want people to link to their site, so I got a neat little ad banner you can click on to go to their home page.

American Science and Surplus is simply a cool place to get stuff you can very likely use.  When you look at what they’ve got to offer, you might get inspiration for an idea you hadn’t thought of.  So you may indeed find survival supplies at a science place.
