What if you went into a fancy restaurant and they served your dinner wrapped in an aluminum foil packet, just like what you had on a camping or scouting trip? Something very similar could happen. It’s called cooking "en papillotes" and it’s trendy.
Could that be a sign of where our economy is today? I don’t know, but it shows the possibilities of the meager roll of aluminum foil.
It seems the possibilities for cooking various meals in foil are endless. You can be as creative as you like with herbs and seasonings to give meat and potatoes more pizzazz. Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to any particular kind of meat or vegetables. Try some fruit and cinnamon for a dessert treat.
Prepare some foil meal packets ahead of time, stick them in a cooler, and take them along next time you go camping or boating. Then cook them over a fire or grill for some tasty meals.
If you’re in a situation where you don’t have access to your usual pots and pans, have a roll of foil among your survival supplies. Surprise those around you with your resourcefulness and culinary creativity.
