Heating with Hay

Hello, this is Survival Sam.  I came across an article some of our readers just might find of interest.  This may prove especially useful for anyone building or renovating a homestead.

A farm in southwest Missouri is using a hay burning stove to heat their poultry houses.  They’re able to replace most, if not all of their dependence on natural gas.  The shed-sized stove holds two large round bales of hay and heats water in pipes.  They got the idea from a farmer in Canada who burns flax straw to heat his poultry houses, home and workshop.
